After the fall of France in 1940, Dönitz’s trio of aces embark on a race to sink British merchant ships. In Britain, the woman who will frustrate his plans turns the Women’s Royal Naval Service into a force to be reckoned with.

When Gilbert Roberts arrives to set up a tactical school for the U-boats, he receives a frosty reception from Admiral Noble. Enlisting the help of Jean Laidlaw and a small team of Wrens, Roberts begins unpicking the flaws in Walker’s ‘Buttercup’.

Roberts and Laidlaw have uncovered a flaw in the Royal Navy’s anti-U-boat tactic ‘Buttercup’. By wargaming through different scenarios, they develop a counter-tactic of their own, Codenamed operation ‘Raspberry’.

Karl Dönitz fills the ocean with wolfpacks. It's 1943, and with supplies spread thin, pressure mounts on Roberts and the Wrens as they fight to prove the their tactics. Convoy ONS. 5 catches Dönitz’s attention, setting the stage for a pivotal battle.

WATU faces a crucial encounter for ONS.5 in the Battle of the Atlantic. Dönitz unleashes the new torpedo that targets the escort ships. Roberts and Laidlaw must counteract the new weapon and recapture the waves.
